Camera Traps – Discovering the Secret Life of Forest Animals

The incredibly lush region of the Ituri Forest provides the perfect habitat and refuge for an incredible number of species. The Democratic Republic of Congo is arguably the most biodiverse country in Africa and one of the 14 mega-diverse countries in the world identified by Conservation International.

Many forest animals live secret lives, and just because we don’t see them, doesn’t mean they aren’t there. By using motion-sensing camera traps, we can set the camera and leave it for months at a time, day and night, through sunshine and rain. When an animal crosses the detection field of the camera, it begins recording for a few seconds.  To read and see more, click here.
