EAZA New Water Source

Four New Water Sources in Wamba

June 19, 2020

Through March and April, OCP worked with local communities around Wamba to construct four new water sources. These locations were chosen for rehabilitation to provide clean water sources for communities bordering the Okapi Wildlife Reserve. A single water source can often provide access to clean water for thousands of residents, making it an important fixture for communities. Before these water sources were constructed, communities were forced to collect water from stagnant sources, often putting them at risk from contaminated water and waterborne diseases.
