Water is Life – Providing Access to Clean Water near Mambasa
All families in the rural and low-income areas of the Democratic Republic of Congo, including those living in and around the Okapi Wildlife Reserve, must fetch water from natural water sources – springs for drinking water, and streams and rivers for water used in cooking or washing. But frequently, these sources of water carry water-borne diseases which can infect the people who consume it. Providing access to clean, fast-flowing water reduces the frequency of water-borne diseases and increases the access to water for many more people in the region. To read more, click here.
